Who does a Business Analyst report to? A Business Analyst reports to the Project Manager or more senior Business Analysts.
What does a Business Analyst do?? Their primary responsibility is to find cost-effective technical solutions to the company’s business requirements. A Business Analyst will often need to prioritize business requirements. This role requires a great deal of communication between clients, stakeholders, and the more technical members of the team.? Some of this communication may include conceptual prototypes and mock-ups.? Business Analysts also do a great deal of documentation.? Business Analyst roles generally require a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Computer Science. A Master’s degree in a related field (or in Business Analysis, if a candidate can find a program for it) will often be an added bonus, although sometimes required. These roles often require at least a few years of relevant experience.? Lastly, a Business Analyst can get their IIBA CBAP certification to strengthen their candidacy, though it is not usually required.
