Desktop Support Technicians

Who do Desktop Support Technicians or Analysts report to?? Desktop Support Technicians usually report to a Help Desk Support Manager or a Service Desk Manager or a Director of Infrastructure Support.

What does Desktop Support do? A Desktop Support Technician or Analyst will usually provide technical support for end users, either remotely or in-person.? This may include hardware support, software support and installation, setting up new workstations, connecting computers to the network, updates, and upgrades.? A Desktop Support role will require at least some relevant education.? This could be a CompTIA A+ certification, a Bachelor’s degree, or an Associate’s degree.? A Desktop Support role may require some experience, especially for the higher tier roles.? However, these roles can be more entry level and require very little or no experience.
